Responding to the ever-increasing interest in top-quality kosher cruising, kosher travel operator Eddie’s Travel ( www.koshertravelers.com) has announced five kosher cruises scheduled for the summer of 2010. To be produced in cooperation with Kosherica, the leading organizer of kosher cruises since 1995, the 2010 line of offerings includes cruises headed for the Mediteranean, Alaska, the Baltics and Canada New England.
Each cruise will combine an exciting line-up of entertainers from the world of Jewish music with distinguished scholars in residence from Israel and the United States. The programs will be hosted on ultra-modern luxury cruise
liners from the top names in the industry including Celebrity, Holland American and Costa.
“The world of kosher cruising has witnessed a dramatic surge in recent years to become a vacation of choice for kosher-observant families and individuals from all over the world,” said David Walles, CEO of Israel-based Eddie’s Travel. “Our goal in designing the summer lineup is to present a variety of destinations and entertainment options to allow even more people to discover what sets kosher cruising apart.”
With food being one of the foremost criteria for what makes a vacation truly memorable, Eddie’s Travel has enlisted the services of one of Israel’s top chefs to supervise all on-board catering operations. Chef Arik Porat, Executive Chef at the five-star Dan Accadia Hotel in Herzliya supervises a large staff of talented culinary artists to prepare award winning meals cooked to top kosher standards. “We see our cruises as an occasion to show off how kosher food and wine can be truly extraordinary and we make every effort to ensure that the meals are ones that our guests will never forget,” Porat said.
Entertainment comes in a variety of forms, including music and lectures and the summer cruise season will attract some of Jewish world’s biggest names. Leaving from Copenhagen, Denmark, the August 8th seven day cruise to the Baltics will visit the picturesque ports of Estonia, St. Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm. Guests will be inspired by Scholar in Residence Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Chief Rabbi of the City of Efrat and founding Rabbi of the Lincoln Square Synagogue and moved by the melodies of Cantor Yaakov Motzen.
While at port, the tour operators make sure to design day-trips that respond to the specific interests of their travelers including programs on Jewish heritage along with general interest. “The name of the game in cruising is to make it a comprehensive vacation where every possible taste and interest is being responded to without having to unpack the luggage each day,” says Walles. “In so doing, we’ve created a travel product that has customers heading home feeling truly rewarded, relaxed and happy with their vacation investment.”
